Southbank Centre’s Summer-Long Revival of the “Festival of Britain”

The Festival of Britain60 years ago, the South Bank of the River Thames played host to the months-long Festival of Britain, an effort to promote British culture & recovery as the country rebuilt after World War II.

This summer, the Festival is seeing its first-ever revival at its old home along the South Bank.  A series of performances, exhibitions, outdoor environments talks are on from now until 4th September 2011 to celebrate the best of British culture and creativity.
