Welcome to London! As you get settled in, take a glance at the various things going on during Arrivals and Orientation week. Please note that some of these session are mandatory.

10:30am to 4:30pm | Faraday House | First Stop, Faraday!
Come check out your home-away-from home, Faraday House! Meet your fellow students, chat up the staff about life in London, and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Also use this opportunity to make a photocopy of your passport – you will need to hand in a copy to recieve your Faraday House building pass & SU London ID. You’ll need a passport-sized photo for your ID – if you don’t have one, there is a photobooth in the student lounge.
4:15pm | Gazzano (Pre-Arranged Housing) | Meet Student Guides
Students in pre-arranged housing can meet up with student guides ahead of the mandatory orientation seminar in the Royal National Hotel.
5:00pm to 6:00pm | Royal National Hotel, Galleon Suite C | General Orientation Seminar [MANDATORY – All students]
Learn important London info, get a sense of the week’s schedule, and recieve your student packs at this MANDATORY event. All students should arrive promptly! The Royal National Hotel is locate at 38-51 Bedford way, London, WC1H 0DG.

Those students who will be seeking independent housing should meet student guides at this time to walk to Faraday House.

11:15am to 12noon | Faraday House Classrooms | Housing Orientation: Small Group Breakouts [MANDATORY – Independent Housing Students]
12noon onwards | Throughout London! | Have lunch and go flat hunting!

Spend your evening with us and get the chance to meet other students and SU London staff, faculty, and alumni! The Student Life team will be on hand to answer any questions you have about settling in London. Food & drinks will be served.
1:45pm | Faraday House Student Lounge (basement level) | Meet up for a neighborhood walking tour
Get your bearings and get the info on Faraday House’s backyard: the neighborhoods of Bloomsbury and Holborn. Free walking tour meets in the Faraday House student lounge and will depart shortly after 1:45pm.
6:00pm to 8:00pm | Faraday House, SR 205 | Internship Meeting [MANDATORY – Internship Students]
Mandatory meeting for all NON-BANDIER program students who have applied for an internship.

All students must submit a signed registration form at the conclusion of the session to Registrar Eugenia Francis. These forms are included in your welcome pack. Your registration is not complete unil you return your signed form!

SIGN-UP BEGINS WEDNESDAY 31st AUGUST at the Housing Desk at Faraday House. There is a £10 refundable deposit due when you sign up for this trip.
To welcome you to London we have organized this bus tour of our most famous historical and tourist attractions, ending at world-famous Greenwich: home to the Meridian Line, the Royal Observatory and the outstandingly beautiful Baroque architecture of the Royal Naval College, overlooking the Thames. Greenwich has become extremely fashionable in recent years and has been chosen as the site for the 2012 Equestrian Olympic events. Join us for your chance to lunch in this bijou corner of London, or shop vintage and modern in its trendy markets.
