Welcome to Faraday House!

A warm welcome to this semester’s students! It has been a real joy meeting you all and hearing about your hurricane-related adventures en route to various East Coast airports: we are mightily relieved that so many of you were able to get here in time to attend the various orientation sessions yesterday and the transport and housing orientations today. We do understand how tiring this period is so please do continue to make use of all the help that is on offer – we’ve seen whole troupes of you heading off with student guides to view flats, buy phones and generally find your feet and we are looking forward to seeing you at 5.30pm back here at Faraday House for the Meet and Greet where there will be lots of lovely (free!) food, competitions and games hosted by our student guides Andy and Elliot (who are just back from performing at the Edinburgh Festival). We’ll also be able to pass on our handy money-saving tips and of course you’ll be able to meet your fellow students and the SU London team.

I was very impressed that some of you have already been asking about signing up for field trips and am pleased to be able to tell you that the first field trips of the semester are already open for sign-ups.  You can check out the full schedule here and of course we’ll have full info and more sign-up opportunities at Monday’s Travel Seminar – so be there!!

Your Student Discount Oyster Cards

From tomorrow, 1st September, you will also be able to apply for your Student Discount Oyster cards. Don’t delay, as it is never too early to start saving money, and the sooner you apply, the earlier I can approve your applications.
