Life after Loving London!!

We know your heads are in a whirl following  all the myriad activities you took part in over our Love London weekend (despite snow, ice and even the occaional fire that London was beset by!). No doubt you might need an update on the all-school field trips and walks you can currently sign up for in the Student Life Office, so here goes!  Interested in any of these? Then make sure you come in and see us soon!

CAMBRIDGE AND SAFFRON WALDEN – Friday 17th Feb, departing Faraday House 9am

Cambridge is one of the most beautiful towns in England. Luscious lawns, amazing architecture, sophisticated shops and punting on the willow-tree shrouded River Cam. Lunch at the Eagle pub – a haunt of the American airmen based there during World War 2, many of whose signatures still adorn the ceiling!

Your route takes you through the quaint English village of Saffron Walden  – a chance to take in the beautiful thatched cottages that adorn this ancient and very pretty village.

Please sign up in the Student Life office. The usual £10 deposit procedure applies.

WE ARE ALSO STILL TAKING SIGN-UPS FOR …

HAMPTON COURT PALACE: FRIDAY 10TH FEB, DEPARTING FARADAY HOUSE AT 9AM

Our next Jill Curran Walk is based on the The American Civil War

Interested in how we started our ‘special relationship?’ Then join us for this inaugural walk!

SUNDAY 12TH FEB, MEET AT 3PM, EXIT 1, MARBLE ARCH TUBE

SIGN UP IN STUDENT LIFE WITH YOUR £5 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT!!

  • Hear about British citizens who contributed to the Southern war effort.
  •  See the locations of most events still exist in their 1860s’ setting (unlike most urban Civil War sites in the United States.)

The guide for this walk recently had a group of students from the University of Kansas, and at the end they were so shocked by what they saw that they requested a trip to a local pub to discuss it more!

Although he is American, he has lived in London for 8 years and loves nothing more than filling young peoples’ heads with ideas of other things to do whilst in this amazing city.  (He used to be an official pub crawl leader for the University of London, so he’s a mine of information!)

After that, the next  ‘Jill Curran’ Walk is:

THE ‘JACK THE RIPPER’ TOUR – 15TH FEBRUARY : THIS IS AN EVENING TOUR, DEPARTING FARADAY HOUSE AT 5PM:

THE £5 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT PROCEDURE APPLIES
